With a holiday weekend on my hands, I was all geared up to take advantage of the wonderful fruit Michigan has in season - then remembered I forgot all of my pie tins back home in Virginia. Damn. So, a galette became the move instead. Not that it's a lesser alternative at all. They're basically free-form pies, so you won't need anything more than a heavy-duty sheet pan for baking.
