Saturdays on the Porch #33
I hope you are having a wonderful Saturday! It's been an extremely busy week. I am actually out of town this weekend and typing this post as my hubby drives.
I wore this outfit earlier this week.
It's my first time wearing this favorite sweater for the season. I got it last fall from Amazon. It's cozy and great with leggings. I even wore it with my sequin pants last Christmas.
Fit Tip: I am wearing a small in the sweater. The jeans are Chico's. I am wearing a .5 in them. I've been wearing them a lot lately.
The following look was last night!
We are out of town for my husband's company Christmas dinner. My daughter snapped the photo yesterday afternoon before we headed out the door.
It was a casual dinner at a restaurant.
I am wearing the same jeans as above. Notice the pocket and ankle detail. They are the same jeans that Ashlyn wore in this post.
This is the kimono that I snagged this week on sale. It's absolutely beautiful. I received several compliments on it. I decided to brighten it a bit with this off-white tank that I've had.
I would also wear this with a black turtleneck on colder days. We were heading to the coast, and it's warmer there this weekend.
Fit Tip: Jeans a size .5, shoes are true to size, and a S/M in the kimono
I took a pair of heels to change into but just kept the flats on. It was raining a bit and heels dressed it up a bit much for the evening.
I took this shot this morning before leaving the hotel. Sorry for the poor lighting. I am wearing the same jeans and this fair isle sweater. It's my first time wearing the sweater that I got on sale. I love it! It also comes in a sweater dress and other colorways.
Fit Tip: Same jeans in a .5, sweater in a medium
We are heading to Southport for the night. I plan to shoot some houses in the Historic area for a post on Wednesday.
I started doing some holiday baking this week. I finally found an old pound cake recipe that my housekeeper gave me over 20 years ago written on a piece of notebook paper. I used to make it all the time! I haven't made it in years.
She used to clean for us 1x per week when I was teaching elementary school until I became a state-at-home mom after our second was born. She cleaned for us for a number of years.
The cake was just as I remembered.
I'll be sharing it on the blog soon. I need to tweak it a bit. The recipe is too much for this new cake pan. I wanted to go and show you the pan. It is stunning!
It's such a beautiufl pan!!
