We've had these on our back deck for weeks and they look so beautiful. Otto is using them for sorting and transferring but when the sunlight passes through them it's all about the colour! Have you seen these before? They are Colour Treasure Tubes.
The Colour Treasure Tubes come in red, blue, green and yellow. There is also a clear set available. The aim is to promote exploratory play ✨. The round, transparent tubes are stackable and have a removable lid at one end. My toddler can independently take off and put the lid back on.
These open-ended materials, more Reggio than Montessori, would be fantastic on the light table, I'm not sure about the projector. Our Colour Treasure Tubes are c/o Modern Teaching Aids. Want to see more?
The lids have indentations so they connect and stack nicely. I can see they would work fantastically well for colour sorting, using them to collect things on a colour hunt or even for storing things like pencils (with the lids on or off).
Pushing the lid on. The lids are firm, they won't fall off but can be opened by a toddler.
Transferring work with lots of things from nature.
Seed pods, gum nuts, leaves, flowers. To turn sorting into fine motor skill work just add some tools like tweezers.
So pretty but also good for learning about colour and light.
The Colour Treasure Tubes are recommended for children 3yrs+. In Australia the Colour Treasure Tubes are available at Modern Teaching Aids.
If you are in the US you can see the Treasure Tubes in Primary here or in clear here. If you are looking for something similar that toddlers cannot independently open see the Treasure Blocks.
